When I was in high school, I struggled with an eating disorder that controlled my life. It contributed to poor self-esteem and lack of confidence. This continued into college. Then, one day, I found out I was going to be a mother of a little girl. I wanted to be a good role model for my daughter. I would have to have a great relationship with food and exercise. I wanted to learn how to be a strong and confident woman–the right type of role model.
A few years later, I graduated with a BS in Community Health Promotion and have been passionate about healthy living for myself and those around me ever since. Today, I am a mother of a beautiful 16-year-old daughter and spend much of my time raising her to be happy, healthy, confident and active. I enjoy and LOVE trail running. The past 6 years, CrossFit has been my primary training method.
I love encouraging others to see the small changes they obtain through their hard work and effort. It’s so amazing to see personal growth, confidence and a happy glow on those around you.
The biggest tip I have for others who would like to change their lives and be healthy is to make “YOU” a priority. Believe in yourself, your health, and everyone around you will benefit. You are the foundation and cornerstone of your life. When you are happy, active and healthy those around you will benefit too.
